It is based on the GSCP Environmental Module roviding a consistent and comparable approach for evaluating and managing environmental impacts across industries.

BEPI environmental assessments will help the facility understand how well they are managing environmental issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate their performance transparently with their stakeholders.
BEPI monitoring covers a comprehensive scope of 8 environmental performance areas ranging from Environmental Management System to Nuisances, and BEPI’s clear five-step approach enables companies to drive continuous improvement through supply chain mapping and analysis.
The assessments include two chapters: the assessment of legal compliance and the assessment of environmental performance.
amfori BEPI’s Environmental Assessment covers a comprehensive scope of environmental areas combined with a methodology based on the International Reference Life Cycle Data System (ILCD) data to shortlist the environmental hot spots for each producer. 8 EPAs include
The validity of the environmental monitoring is calculated based on the report submission date. Focused scope monitoring is valid for 24 months and neither the score obtained by the business partner nor the follow-up monitoring can impact the validity of the monitoring. The validity of full scope monitoring depends on the grade achieved as well as the follow-up. Detailed in the table below
Full scope monitoring provides the site with partial scores for each EPA and an overall score for the entire monitoring. The 5-level overall scale is presented below
The Environmental Monitoring report provides a business partner with a Corrective Action Plan (CAP), and the Continuous Improvement functionality on the amfori Sustainability Platform allows business partners to demonstrate and document their improvement activities. It also enables amfori members to closely monitor any risk mitigation actions. And the follow-up monitoring should be scheduled at least between 2 and 12 months after the initial environmental monitoring to provide the site with sufficient time to introduce and document relevant changes. Not respecting this guideline can result in a monitoring that identifies the same issues as the initial monitoring.
