Facility registers in SLCP and completes the self-assessment
The Social & Labour Conversion Program (SLCP) is a is a multi-stakeholder initiative designed to create a more efficient and scalable approach to assessing social and labor conditions in global supply chains
It introduces a standardized framework that combines data collection and independent verification, allowing facilities to generate reliable and comparable information on working conditions. This information can be shared across brands, standards, and business partners, helping reduce duplication and unnecessary audit activity.
This framework is implemented through the Converged Assessment Framework (CAF), a standardized tool that streamlines the assessment process, reducing duplication and unnecessary audit activity and enabling companies to focus on improving working conditions.
Verifications are conducted by authorized verification body and use a methodology design to collect objective social and labor data that stakeholders can use to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress.
The Converged Assessment Framework consists of three elements:
Data Collection Tool (Excel and online on the host platforms)
‘Questionnaire’ used to gather data on working conditions in a facility and used by the Verifier to review all the questions that a facility must answer in the self/joint-assessment. When completed, this document includes both the facility’s and verifiers’ answers. It can be filled in online through an Accredited Host platform or offline through a downloadable excel file.
Verification Protocol (PDF)
The document that contains the procedures, rules and process requirements for conducting an SLCP verification.
Verifier Guidance (PDF)
The document that helps Verifiers complete the verified assessment report by giving guidance on how to verify a facility’s answers to questions in the Data Collection Tool.
SLCP does not define a mandatory validity period. Verifications typically follow a rolling cycle, with assessments often refreshed on an annual basis depending on client requirements.
Once a facility completes itself or joint assessment, the verification process is expected to take place within approximately 2 months to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the data
