WRAP

The Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) is a globally recognized certification that verifies a facility’s compliance with social, legal, and environmental standards. The program promotes safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing practices worldwide.

It is widely used in the apparel, footwear, and sewn products industries and is recognized by international brands and retailers, particularly in the U.S. market.

WRAP is based on 12 principles aligned with international standards, local regulations, and ILO conventions. These cover key areas such as labor practices, health and safety, environmental management, and legal compliance, including import/export requirements, customs compliance, and security standards.

Achieving WRAP certification helps facilities demonstrate responsible operations, meet customer requirements, and strengthen their credibility in global supply chains.

Audit Methodology

Obtaining WRAP certification involves a structured five-step process. It begins with the production facility applying and paying the registration fee.

The second step is the Pre-Audit Self-Assessment (PASA). While optional, PASA is strongly recommended as a preparation tool for facilities prior to the audit. It provides sample questions aligned with those used by monitoring firms, along with guidance on gathering the necessary documentation, information, and supporting materials.

Following this, an on-site audit is conducted by an accredited monitoring partner, such as ALGI. The audit report is then submitted to WRAP for review, after which a certification decision is made.
